Description
Colour:
Topaz.
Nose:
Rich and unctuous. Supported by a pleasant malty bitterness, it opens with earthy and spicy notes (cinnamon), followed by tropical fruits (passion fruit, lychee), dark berries (grape, blackberry), and forest floor aromas (dry leaves, porcini). Subtle hints of prune then impart a refined, noble character.
Palate:
Clean and lively. Initially oily, distinctly peaty, lemony, and peppery, the palate gradually transitions towards honeyed and waxy notes. As it becomes increasingly creamy, it develops indulgent flavours (toasted bread, rusk), malty tones (barley porridge), and vibrant fruit (mirabelle plum, damson).
Finish:
Long and concentrated. Echoing the malty character of the nose and palate, the finish is lifted by flavours of gentian, mint, eucalyptus, and sage. Both exotic (passion fruit) and candied (prune), the retro-olfaction gently softens into notes of toffee and bourbon vanilla.
