This third release in the series is a first-fill bourbon cask–matured Chichibu, a pure and faithful showcase of the distillery’s house style. From the first sip, the whisky reveals a dynamic progression: bright maltiness, crisp orchard fruit, layers of honey and wax, delicate herbs, warm spices, and finally a burst of tropical notes. Intensely aromatic yet beautifully balanced, it offers a seamless evolution from freshness to depth — a hallmark of Chichibu’s craftsmanship. Its complexity is amplified by the pristine quality of the cask, allowing the spirit’s natural character to shine with remarkable clarity and energy.

Founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, Chichibu quickly established itself as one of the world’s most acclaimed modern distilleries. Revered by both whisky newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts, Chichibu is known for its meticulous, hands-on production methods and its commitment to authentically Japanese whisky-making. Fermentation takes place in mizunara oak washbacks, distillation is carried out in small Forsyth’s copper pot stills, and many expressions are produced from local barley—with the ambition of becoming the first truly 100% Japanese whisky.
