Tasting Notes

Colour : Mahogany.

Nose : Rich, heady. Aromas of burnt cane, tar, pipe tobacco, iris concrete, petroleum, exotic fruits (mango, persimmon), rose petals, and curry make up an extremely complex and concentrated aromatic palette. With aeration, apricot-like rancio and vetiver scents gradually fill the air.

Palate : Full-bodied, rich. Continuing from the nose, the flavor profile is refreshed by blood orange zest. Then, oily (black olive) and smoky (fish), it gradually becomes spicy (Cayenne), empyreumatic (soot, fuel), and resinous (Lebanese cedar). Noble expressions of wax polish bring the palate to a grand conclusion.

Finish : Long, concentrated. Exotic fruits (passion fruit, pineapple, kaffir lime) spread their tangy juice around the palate at just the right moment. The tasting then shifts to more fibrous (sugarcane), heady (carnation), and sap-like (pine) notes. The aftertaste is both butyric and vanilla-laced.
