Tasting Notes

Colour : Deep orange copper.

Nose : Rich, profound. Right away, the hydrocarbon notes (diesel, fuel) that are the hallmark of Caroni permeate the atmosphere. This opening sets the tone but is accompanied by fruity scents (apricot, nectarine), spicy notes (cinnamon, ginger), and floral hints (lilac, lavender). With aeration, tenderly chocolaty aromas gradually emerge.

Palate : Lively, invigorating. Powdery (cocoa), licorice-like (zan), and empyreumatic (soot, burnt wood), the flavor profile evolves towards more balsamic tones (pine, cedar) and fibrous notes (sugarcane). Then, flavors of Armenian paper, emery cloth, and wood paste lend it great nobility of expression.

Finish : Long, velvety. The diesel and fuel notes remain present, forming the foundation of a tasting that evokes strong emotions. Gradually, iris concrete, Sichuan pepper, and eucalyptus flavors shape a finish that is also roasted (coffee), vegetal, and tar-like (pipe tobacco, asphalt).
