Founded in 1881 on the Isle of Islay, BRUICHLADDICH is renowned for its innovative approach to single malt whisky, combining traditional craftsmanship with a willingness to experiment. Under the direction of Mark Reynier and master distiller Jim McEwan, the distillery explored a wide range of styles, from its signature unpeated malts to heavily peated expressions such as Port Charlotte and Octomore, alongside experimental triple- and quadruple-distilled whiskies and innovative cask maturation techniques.
This 15-year-old expression, distilled in 1986 and bottled for Whisky Ship Zürich, bears the signature of Jim McEwan. Representing an earlier chapter in Bruichladdich’s history, it offers an opportunity to explore the distillery’s character through an independent and historically distinctive bottling.
