Distilled in 1994, this 28-year-old BENRIACH was matured in a Virgin Oak Hogshead, cask #8127, during an era when the distillery’s own malting floors were still in operation. The expression follows Benriach’s distinctive peated style, combining mature spirit with the influence of new oak to create a remarkably deep and multifaceted profile.

The whisky develops through an intriguing succession of citrus, fruit, chocolate, earthy and medicinal notes. Candied lemon and grapefruit mingle with green walnut, lichen and damp earth, before giving way to dark chocolate, exotic fruit and subtle medicinal nuances. On the palate, smoky and savoury notes meet tropical fruit, herbs and charred wood, while the long finish brings malted barley, dark chocolate, spice, gentian and pipe tobacco.
