Nose : Both pulpy and heady. On the first nose, blood oranges, perfectly ripe mangoes rub shoulders with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, toffee as well as nutmeg, Sichuan pepper and aromatic plants (savory, rosemary). Allowed to breathe, red fruits (raspberry, strawberry) magnify an exceptionally deep and fresh rancio. Gradually, aromas of roasted pineapple and verbena liqueur permeate the ambient atmosphere with great class.
Palate : Rich, unctuous. Deliciously powdery (cocoa, coffee bean), the attack on the palate also reveals notes of tobacco and candied citrus fruits (mandarin, lemon). The suave mid-palate deposits a basket of exotic fruits (mango, persimmon, guava) on the palate, then evolves towards a divinely herbaceous, woody (cedar), floral (linden) and empyreumatic (eucalyptus) register. The finish is oriental (garam massala, ylang-ylang).
Finish : Long, silky. Black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, elderberry) provide a lot of depth at the start of the finish. Their velvety tannins gently coat the taste buds. Deeply mineral (basalt, manganese), the aftertaste and retro-nasal olfaction are also juicy, jammy (quince, apricot, strawberry), highlighting all the brilliance of aging in sherry casks out of the ordinary.
