Located in the heart of the Speyside valley, often referred to as Scotland’s “golden triangle,” Aultmore has been revered since its founding in 1896 for producing some of the cleanest, most ethereal single malts in the region.

Its early success under founder Alexander Edward—who also owned the Oban distillery—was disrupted by the infamous Pattison crash, Prohibition, and the economic volatility of the 1920s. Despite these industry-wide challenges, Aultmore survived by passing through the hands of several owners, allowing it to remain operational through both World Wars.

A major modernisation in 1970 doubled its production capacity, further solidifying its importance to many blended Scotch recipes. Since 1998, Aultmore has belonged to the Bacardi group, and recent years have seen a renewed appreciation for its single malts—celebrated for their delicacy, grassy sweetness, and understated elegance.
