ARDMORE 2008 Aged 10 Years 8th Edition ARTIST S.V

$300.00

Founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher, Ardmore increased its number of stills from two to four in 1955, and then to eight in 1974. Until 2002, they were all still direct-fired. With a peat level of 12 to 14 ppm, Ardmore is clearly reminiscent of an Islay single malt, as is this 2008 bottling, which invites us to cut peat with our own hands. This freshly cut peat fills the entire tasting. Much later, the retronasal olfaction enriches this particularly evocative picture with notes of smoke and ash.

Description

Profile: the unctuous initial nose is characterized by an ultra-powerful peat. Chocolatey and spicy, it persistently floods the palate. In tune with the nose, pear takes over the sides of the palate. The mid-palate is refreshed with coconut milk. The finish evokes a custard tart, before becoming more herbaceous and spicy (pink peppercorn). Single Cask no. 800168 – First Fill Bourbon. Exclusive to LMDW.
