On the most northerly shores of Scotland, where the North Sea meets the Caithness coast, there is a town called Wick. Old Pulteney captures the essence of its extreme and unique location characterised by the sea.
THE PLACE: WICK
THE HISTORY
Founded in 1826, Old Pulteney is among the distilleries that closed their doors for almost 30 years before re-opening in 1959, at the dawn of one of the biggest booms in the history of whisky.
TO THE PRESENT DAY
Production restarted and has not stopped since. Matured next to the sea exclusively in ex-bourbon casks, Old Pulteney is inseparable from the spirit of the harbour town it calls home which is why it will always be The Maritime Malt.
