VALLEIN TERCINIER Lot 58 Petite Champagne Foundations

$900.00

Purchased by Louis Vallein in 1791, the Domaine des Forges is located in the heart of Saintonge.

Under the guidance of his son Georges, a commercial entity was established in 1850.

Today, Louis and Catherine Tercinier represent the sixth generation leading this family-run, artisanal cognac house.

Originating from the Petite Champagne terroir, renowned for the finesse of its eaux-de-vie, this very old cognac shines with the airy and subtle nature of its fruity and floral tones.

Tasting Notes

Colour
: Old gold

Nose : Both ample and precise. Wonderfully oxidative, the initial nose reveals notes of beeswax, dried fruits (apricot, date), and spices (clove, cardamom) of rare distinction. Later, a thin layer of caramel fills the aromatic space.

Palate : Dynamic, lively. Very different from the nose, the initial palate bursts with youthful vibrancy. Grape-like at first, it evolves into floral notes (lily of the valley, lily). More tertiary (lichen, toffee), the mid-palate becomes tighter and softly tannic. The fruits have become candied.

Finish : Long, full-bodied. Both infused (thyme, linden) and exotic (pineapple, persimmon), the beginning of the finish takes us through vineyard rows. Evoking a springtime, green landscape filled with vine flower scents, the aftertaste is extremely evocative.
