Tasting Notes
Nose : The first nose reveals inviting and indulgent notes of caramel, praline, and crème brûlée. It becomes more complex, developing into earthy spices with aromas of gingerbread, cocoa, buttery shortbread, and eventually evolving into empyreumatic notes of earth, leather, and a slight touch of humidity. Fruitier notes follow, with candied apricot, raspberry jam, and banana caramel tart. It’s the perfect marriage of malt and bourbon casks. The top notes sing, reminiscent of a vintage Chablis from a sunny year, with aromas of vibrant peaches and mineral brilliance; or a delicately fragrant apple pie.
Palate : Full, thick, and almost oily, with all the fruit! There are peaches, pears, mandarins, and dried strawberries in abundance, accented by floral notes of lavender and sandalwood. Followed by more indulgent flavors of sorbet, linden musk, and rose petals. A beautiful framework of melted chocolate and caramel lets you ride the successive waves of fruit, candy, and spices.
Finish : Long and persistent, with pronounced aromas of honeycomb, licorice coated in chocolate, and a hint of custard. A wonderful entry with jammy notes of black currant, black cherry, and blackberry, reminiscent of a great Médoc. An abundance of stone fruits, lime, kiwi, and dried green mango. The waxy, pleasant texture of bourbon envelops the mouth before giving way to the more delicate aromas of sandalwood, which persists throughout the finish.
