Speyburn is a Speyside distillery known for producing elegant and approachable single malts. This expression is presented as part of Gordon & MacPhail’s Connoisseurs Choice range, which showcases carefully selected casks from distilleries across Scotland.
Matured for 15 years in a single Sherry cask, this Speyburn takes on a pronounced sherry influence while retaining the character of the spirit. Dried fruit, orange marmalade and walnuts combine with spicy oak, while its notably oily texture and well-integrated alcohol give the whisky a rich and rounded palate. A few drops of water further open the whisky, bringing greater intensity to its fruit and spice character.

Nose: Light fruits and apricots open the profile, followed by orange marmalade. With time, deeper dark fruit notes gradually emerge.
Palate: Rich and oily, with well-integrated alcohol and light sherry aromas. Walnuts, spice and oak develop before water brings out more intense fruit and spice.
Finish: Medium-long and warming, with lingering spice and oak. A splash of water extends the finish further.
Style: Oily and sherried. Dried fruit, walnut, spice.
