The Sanchez distillery is a small family-owned business that has been operating for over 150 years in Candelaria Yegolé, a village in the state of Oaxaca. For four generations, the Sanchez maestro mezcaleros have been succeeding each other from father to son to create exceptional quality artisanal mezcals. The Espadin agave is considered the ancestor of Sisal and blue agave, used for tequila production. It is one of the few species of agave that can be cultivated, which is why it is the most commonly used in mezcal production in Oaxaca. It produces typical, smoky, and highly aromatic mezcals.
