Rey Campero represents the culture and artisanal mezcal-making tradition of Candelaria Yegolé, Oaxaca, where mezcal production has been passed down through generations. Founded by maestro mezcalero Rómulo Sánchez Parada, the house works closely with local agave growers while preserving traditional production methods and the character of each individual lot.
Rey Campero Azul was produced by Vicente Sánchez Parada at the family’s La Candela palenque in Candelaria Yegolé, Zoquitlán, Oaxaca. Lot DS001-AZ was produced in October 2022 and rested in glass for six months before bottling. A distinctly artisanal mezcal, it reflects the terroir, craftsmanship and individuality of Oaxaca, with each lot offering its own subtle variations.
