Port Askaig 25 Year Old is a mature Islay single malt bottled at 45.8% ABV, drawn from a specially selected batch of casks from an Islay distillery known for its powerful, medicinal, iodised and peppery peat. After 25 years of ageing, the whisky’s intense smoky core has softened and expanded, revealing layers of floral notes, leather and gentle spice that complement its robust peated character, resulting in a balanced and deeply expressive interpretation of classic Islay whisky.
Created by Elixir Distillers, Port Askaig is a range of Islay single malt whiskies named after the historic harbour town on Islay’s north coast, long regarded as the island’s gateway. While there is no distillery in Port Askaig itself, the range is built on the careful selection of outstanding casks from Islay’s distilleries, with each release designed to embody the elegance, character and unmistakable maritime smokiness that define the very essence of Islay.
