Founded in 2005, Kilchoman is the first new distillery to be established on the Isle of Islay in over 120 years. Built as a true farm distillery, it remains one of Scotland’s few distilleries to oversee every stage of production on-siteāfrom growing and malting its own barley to distilling, maturing and bottling. Around 30% of its annual production comes from barley harvested on the distillery’s own fields, with the remainder sourced from Port Ellen Maltings. This hands-on approach gives Kilchoman a distinctive identity, combining traditional craftsmanship with the bold, smoky character for which Islay is renowned.
This Kilchoman 2007 was selected and bottled by Velier, one of the world’s most respected independent bottlers, known for showcasing spirits in their purest form. Distilled during the distillery’s formative years, it captures the youthful vibrancy that first established Kilchoman’s reputation. Richly peated yet remarkably elegant, this rare release balances fresh citrus, sweet malt and maritime smoke, offering collectors and enthusiasts the opportunity to experience one of the distillery’s earliest and most sought-after vintages.
