Founded in 1955 at the foot of Japan’s majestic Alps in Nagano Prefecture, Karuizawa has become one of the most legendary names in Japanese whisky. Revered by collectors and connoisseurs alike, the distillery built its reputation on producing richly sherried single malts using the prized Golden Promise barley variety. Following the closure of the distillery in 2000, Karuizawa bottlings have become increasingly scarce, cementing their status among the world’s most sought-after whiskies.

The Artifice Series celebrates the meeting of exceptional whisky and contemporary art, with each release featuring original artwork by renowned Singaporean artist Warren Khong. Distilled in 1985, this rare expression captures the signature elegance and intensity that made Karuizawa famous. Matured in sherry casks and bottled in limited quantities, it offers remarkable depth, complexity and balance, making it both a collectible masterpiece and a truly memorable dram.
