HIGHLAND PARK 18 ans Young Siward Macbeth Act Two Elixir Distillers

“Young Siward” is a Highland Park single malt bottled by Elixir Distillers as part of Act Two of the Macbeth series, a collection of forty-two whiskies inspired by Shakespeare’s tragedy. One of twelve noble malts in The Thanes series, this expression was matured in refill hogsheads, allowing the distillery’s signature character to shine without heavy cask influence. The result is a whisky that emphasises heather smoke and honey, lifted by honeysuckle and ginger spice, capturing a sense of youth, promise and restraint rather than sherried richness.

Located in Orkney, Highland Park owes its distinctive style to two defining elements: people and peat. The distillery malts its barley on site using peat drawn from its own local bogs, composed almost entirely of Calluna heather and its roots, which gives Highland Park its unmistakably aromatic, floral smoke. Fiercely proud of its heritage, Highland Park was also among the last distilleries to use endemic Scottish barley and has long pursued a hands-on, tradition-led approach to whisky-making, resulting in a balanced style where smoke, sweetness and texture coexist in harmony.
