Hellyers Road was founded in 1997 on the lush island of Tasmania. The distillery owes its existence to a shared passion for whisky between the owner of a dairy cooperative and a professional distiller. Together, they decided to create a new kind of milk?one that would be malted. The distillery?s name pays tribute to its very first explorer, Henry Hellyer, the first European to set foot on this wild territory. From his determination was born the very first road carved through the bush?still the route that leads to the distillery today. Without a doubt, the exceptional whiskies of Hellyers Road have inherited the perseverance of this pioneering spirit. Distilled for the first time in 1999, the whisky derives its character from a masterful control of cask maturation.

Located in Burnie, in northern Tasmania, Hellyers Road Distillery was officially established in 1999, with its first whisky released in 2006. Crafted from a variety of barley sourced from Bairds of Inverness maltings, this richly peated expression, matured in first-fill bourbon casks, perfectly captures the distinctive Hellyers Road style. Showcasing a peat profile that selflessly guides the tasting experience, its aromatic and flavour palette evolves with originality and elegance, moving seamlessly through fruity, floral, spicy, herbal, balsamic and saline dimensions.
