Description
Colour: deep old gold.
Nose: rich and heady. Terpenic (lava), empyreumatic (fuel, petrol), oily, medicinal (tiger balm), camphoric, musky and chocolatey, the aromatic profile makes no concessions. With aeration, notes of sugarcane and macerating fruits (persimmon, mango, kaffir lime) unfurl their pronounced fragrances.
Palate: vibrant and powerful. Impressively rich and concentrated, the flavour profile is ashy and almost peaty, at times recalling an Islay single malt; an impression reinforced by a mineral evolution reminiscent of coal. Intensely fruity (pineapple) and liqueur-like (sugarcane), it finishes by boldly reaffirming its unmistakably Jamaican identity.
Finish: long and velvety. Delightfully vanilla-driven (pod) and high in esters, it unfolds harmonious floral (carnation, geranium) and honeyed nuances. On the retro-olfaction, flavours of dark chocolate and cardamom tea add refined elegance. Long afterwards, petrol-like aromas continue to linger from the empty glass, permeating the air.
