HAMPDEN 70 ans Velier

Distilled in 2010 and aged entirely in Jamaica’s intense tropical climate, this Hampden release matured in five ex-bourbon casks before being bottled by Velier to celebrate the company’s 70th anniversary. Bearing the prestigious “<>H” mark, it corresponds to an ester level between 900–1000 g/hL AA, placing it among Hampden’s most expressive high-ester styles. Explosive, aromatic and deeply Jamaican in character, this limited bottling showcases the full power of naturally concentrated tropical ageing.

Founded in the 18th century, Hampden Estate is one of Jamaica’s most iconic rum distilleries, celebrated for its traditional production methods and unmistakably high-ester profile. Using long wild fermentations, spring water, and wood-fired pot still distillation, Hampden creates some of the most intensely aromatic rums in the world—synonymous with tropical fruit, varnish, overripe banana and vibrant funk (“hogo”). Velier, one of the world’s most respected independent bottlers, has played a major role in bringing Hampden’s heritage and purity to global prominence through single-cask and high-ester limited editions.
