Colour: topaz.
Nose: rich, concentrated. The medicinal, camphoric and musky first nose immediately reveals its strong personality. Lingering on, aromas of candied pineapple, cane fibre, walnut and turpentine accentuate the aroma palette’s exotic, vegetal and empyreumatic character. Gradually, other exotic fruits (banana, kaffir lime), fragrances of aged mezcals and clairins, and bourbon vanilla fill the air.
Palate: taut, lively. On the attack, essential oils (thuja, savoury, white mint), candied fruit (pineapple, pear, lemon), smoked fish and PVC glue demonstrate the flavour palette’s originality. The mid-palate becomes empyreumatic (tar, rubber) and drier, characterised by citrus fruit zest and dried sugar cane. Unexpectedly, the end of the palate is much more luxurious (tropical vegetation, succulents).
Finish: long, silky. At the start of the finish, notes of dark chocolate, zan liquorice sweets and molasses coat the edge of the palate in their lovely syrupy bitterness. The exotic end of the finish (pineapple, lychee, kaffir lime) is also honeyed (acacia) and herbaceous (tea leaf). On the retro-nasal olfaction, various infusions (sage, camomile) refresh the taste buds right on time. The empty glass is lemony, spicy (star anise, clove), vegetal (Havana cigar) and sweet (cane).
