To commemorate Mr. George’s legacy and celebrate his influence on the whisky industry, Gordon & MacPhail is proud to present this superb and very rare single malt, the third edition of “Mr. George Legacy.” The whisky comes from Glen Grant, one of his favorite distilleries, and was casked in 1959 by Mr. George in a first-fill Sherry cask. 63 long years later, the whisky was selected by Stuart Urquhart, his grandson, to embody his philosophy and heritage. Created in 1968 by the whisky visionary “Mr. George” Urquhart, the “Connoisseurs Choice” range now includes over 2,000 bottlings from around a hundred Scottish distilleries. The story of each “Connoisseurs Choice” whisky is told on its label: cask type, bottling date, strength, vintage, and tasting notes. Always non-chill filtered, these rare single casks and small batch expressions were created through Gordon & MacPhail’s unique expertise in marrying spirit and oak casks, passed down through four generations of the same family.
