R.L. Seale & Company, established in 1926, is one of Barbados’ oldest independent rum producers and remains family-run across four generations. Located in the St. George Valley, the modern Foursquare distillery stands on the site of a former sugar estate whose history dates back to 1636. Founded in 1996 by Richard Seale, Foursquare produces both light rums (distilled at 94% ABV in triple-column Coffey stills) and heavier, more characterful rums (distilled at 78.8% ABV in double retort pot stills).
