Doorly’s Aged 3 Years is a blend of Pot and Column distilled rums from the Foursquare Distillery, Barbados. All the rum in the blend is aged for a minimum of 3 years in the tropical Caribbean climate of the island. Each one features parrots on the label, which is wonderful. While this expression may be a white rum, it was actually aged for three years, which ensures it stands above most other white rums in terms of flavour. After maturation, the spirit was filtered, removing the colour from the liquid, but not the flavour profile. A great rum for mixing in your favourite cocktails.

3 Year Old rum from Doorly’s, though this expression here has been bottled at the higher strength of 47% ABV. The white rum is aged and then filtered to remove the hue, but none of the flavour – meaning it’s packed full of tropical fruit and subtle oak warmth. Great for cocktails and the like.

Nose: Fruity and aromatic with pineapple and other tropical fruit notes

Taste: Fresh and fruity with notes of coconut

Finish: Swift and clean

Overall: A well-constructed white rum for cocktails. Easy to drink, yet complex enough to lift it above most of the competition.
