Description
Colour: Topaz.
Nose: Rich and unctuous. Supported by a pleasant malty bitterness, earthy and spicy notes of cinnamon quickly give way to tropical fruits (passion fruit, lychee), dark berries (grape, blackberry), and forest floor aromas (dry leaves, porcini mushrooms). Subtle hints of prune add a touch of nobility.
Palate: Clean and lively. Initially oily, firmly peaty, lemony, and peppery, it evolves towards honeyed and waxy tones. Increasingly creamy, it becomes more indulgent with notes of toasted bread and rusk, malty barley porridge, and ripe fruits such as mirabelle plum and damson.
Finish: Long and concentrated. Echoing the malty character of the nose and palate, the finish is refreshed by gentian, mint, eucalyptus, and sage. Both exotic (passion fruit) and candied (prune), the retro-olfaction gradually softens into notes of toffee and bourbon vanilla.
