Founded in 1846, the Caol Ila distillery was entirely rebuilt in 1974 according to the plans of architect George Leslie Darge. Equipped with six imposing pot stills, it produces a single malt that not only delights big-name master blenders but also independent bottlers. This particularly expressive and truly magnificent version transports us in the true sense of the word. Relentlessly traversed by curls of smoke and an exquisitely gentle sea breeze, the aromatic palette is a succession of wild sequences and moments of peace and tranquillity.

Profile: the elegant initial nose is characterized by notes of smoked salmon, candied lemon, almond milk and fine hail. Allowed to breathe, it becomes floral (peony) and ashy. The stately attack reveals a liquorice peat covered in salt. The well-balanced finish offers a taste of oily and salty (seaweed) peat. As a whole, it is extremely mineral.
