CAMERONBRIDGE 8 ans 2012 Very Cloudy Signatory Vintage

$69.00

Located to the north of Edinburgh and built in 1824, Cameronbridge is the oldest grain distillery in Scotland. It is also the largest, producing close to 100 million litres of alcohol per year. Distilled in 2012, this version has been aged exclusively in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, which has given it delicate hints of vanilla, spices and coconut. The whisky is impressively rich and mature for its young age. Like the Un-Chillfiltered Collection, the whiskies in the Very Cloudy range are bottled in small batches of two to five casks. Reduced to 40% without either chill filtering or colouring, they have a rich, intensely aromatic character and a slightly cloudy appearance. For a more authentic tasting experience, they can be enjoyed either at room temperature or lightly chilled to accentuate their oily character. The Very Cloudy range is exclusive to La Maison du Whisky.

Description

MERCHANT
Although the independent bottler Signatory Vintage cannot claim to be one of the oldest in Scotland, it has managed to build up an extremely solid reputation amongst the great malt connoisseurs. The creator of the famous range The Prestonfield and many other well-known ranges, it is best known for its un-chillfiltered and cask strength bottlings that offer amateurs the chance to enjoy their whisky in its most natural form. It was also one of the first independent bottlers to acquire a distillery and now offers a growing number of expressions of one of the most artisan single malts available.
