It’s worth asking if sometimes, in addition to its almost unpronounceable name, Bunnahabhain isn’t trying to lose us. Generally unpeated when the distillery name appears alone on the label, the Moine and Staoisha versions display an intensely smoky profile, as worthy representatives of the Islay style. While Moine simply means “peat” in Gaelic, Staoisha is the name of a lake located a few kilometers from the distillery, in the heart of the island’s peat bogs. Distilled in 2014, this Bunnahabhain Staoisha can be proud of its six years of age, it looks much older. Strong in character, its maturation in sherry casks perfectly complements a camphor, maritime, and fruity profile. Slainte mhath! The Un-Chillfiltered Collection range brings together non-chill filtered single malts, bottled at 46% from carefully selected small batch casks. Rich, aromatic, and oily, these whiskies have preserved all their character for an authentic tasting experience. An exclusive from La Maison du Whisky.
