Description
Nose: Fresh and subtle. Opening with notes of acacia honey, fruit (apple, hazelnut), fermentation (porridge), herbaceous touches (lucerne), spice (clove), and light empyreumatic hints (beeswax), the nose gains depth continuously. As it breathes, vanilla, incense, and iris butter gradually rise to the surface.
Palate: Rich and unctuous. Citrus zests (grapefruit, lemon) and vanilla pod take the lead at first. A surge of malted barley grains then sweeps through, clearing the way for an abundance of fruits?apple, banana, mirabelle plum, and yellow peach.
Overall: Long and silky. Building on the palate, the finish opens with notes of liquorice, powdered ginger, crushed hazelnut, and oils (walnut, sunflower). Retro-nasal olfaction brings a wave of spice (curry, nutmeg) before returning to malt (cooked barley) and gentian root. True to the nose, the dried extracts in the empty glass reveal lingering notes of fruit, herbs, and vanilla.
