Auchentoshan produces the most iconic single malt of the Lowlands. The practice of triple distillation (very rare in Scotland) and the very high degree of collected distillate allow for the production of a single malt that is refined, subtle, smooth, and elegant, most often marked by herb and citrus notes. In addition to its standard aged products, Auchentoshan exists in many limited editions, aged in wine or bourbon barrels, displaying a vintage and bottled cask strength. Valinch, an age-undisclosed bottling without reduction, enjoys a real reputation among many connoisseurs.
