Tasting Notes

Nose: Complex, with intense notes of black plums, plums and melon. Then, a wave of coconut and marzipan mingle with notes of dark chocolate. Then comes a scent of vanilla and sweet orange as well as an array of tropical fruits.

Palate: An entry with an assertive note of dark chocolate which opens on marzipan and molasses. The mid-palate offers notes of vanilla pods and honey, combined with tropical fruits and subtle hints of lemon. There is a delicate hint of mint reminiscent of the long tropical aging of this whisky.

Finish: Long, with a note of mint that refreshes the palate.

Description

Amrut reveals the latest installment of the “Greedy Angels” collection. The Indian distillery has succeeded in demonstrating all its experience in the art of creating exceptional whiskeys thanks to this latest edition aged 12 years in a tropical climate. Aging begins in PX sherry barrels for 6 years and then the whiskey is transferred to bourbon barrels before reaching maturity. The result is very elegant! The whiskey has been bottled at 60% to reveal all of its depth and complexity.

The box includes a carafe and its stopper as well as two tasting glasses from the internationally renowned family crystal factory – Glencairn, in Scotland.

Amrut Greedy Angels 12 Year Old is a very rare edition, with only 240 bottles worldwide. “The Angels of Bangalore live up to their fame,” concludes Ashok Chokalingam, Master Distiller of Amrut Distilleries, “this land can produce whiskeys that will amaze and stun you every time.”
