Amrut reveals to us the latest opus of the “Greedy Angels” collection. The Indian distillery has succeeded in demonstrating all its expertise in the art of creating exceptional whiskies with this latest edition aged 12 years in a tropical climate. Aging begins in PX sherry casks for 6 years, then the whisky is transferred to bourbon barrels before reaching maturity. The result is of great elegance! The whisky has been bottled at 60% to reveal all its depth and complexity. The set includes a decanter and its stopper as well as two tasting glasses from the internationally renowned family crystalware – Glencairn, in Scotland. Amrut Greedy Angels 12 years is a very rare edition, with only 240 bottles in the world. “The angels of Bangalore live up to their reputation,” concludes Ashok Chokalingam, master distiller of Amrut Distilleries, “this land can produce whiskies that will surprise and delight you every time”.

Tasting Notes


Nose : Complex, with intense notes of black plums, plums, and melon. Then, a wave of coconut and almond paste blends with notes of dark chocolate. Next comes a scent of vanilla and sweet orange as well as an array of tropical fruits.

Palate : An entry with a pronounced note of dark chocolate that opens up to almond paste and molasses. The mid-palate offers notes of vanilla pods and honey, combined with tropical fruits and subtle lemon notes. There is a delicate minty hint reminiscent of the long tropical aging of this whisky.

Finish : Long, with a note of mint that refreshes the palate.
