Over the years, PJ Rigney undertook many journeys, from his family lands to unknown places. These travels led him to the wild and unspoiled lands of Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim in Ireland. It was here that his curious mind, filled with the Oriental traditions of distilling fruits, herbs, and botanicals, began to flourish. He created The Shed Distillery, using medieval copper stills, and started his quest to blend the Oriental botanicals discovered during his travels with those of the Irish lands.

After Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, PJ Rigney launched his first Irish whiskey: Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, after 7 years of preparation and 5 years of distillation. Every drop is meticulously distilled at The Shed Distillery from oats by master distiller Brian Taft, surrounded by experts.
