Colour: deep gold.
Nose: full, rich. On the first nose, grains of rice interweave delicately with incredibly pure notes of vanilla and white fruit (peach, pear, apple). Allowed to breathe, citrus fruit zest (lemon, grapefruit) and elegant aromas of fresh walnut, rosemary and tarragon flood the air. The pleasantly bitter aroma palette gradually becomes more and more exotic (pineapple, banana).
Palate: lively, invigorating. The fibrous and balsamic (liquorice stick, pine resin) attack is at once herbaceous (cut hay, lucerne) and vanilla. On the mid-palate, dill and coriander flavours further highlight the flavour palette’s vegetal character. Dried fruit and nuts (almond, coconut, date) give a lovely consistency to the very lightly spiced end of the palate (star anise).
Overall: long, silky. The extremely velvety start of the finish covers the taste buds in a fine coating of milk chocolate. More lemony and floral (iris, lily), the end of the finish is sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg. On the retro-nasal olfaction, blonde tobacco flavours spread across the palate. The empty glass is malty, medicinal (ointment) and spicy (curry).
