Crafted slowly using traditional methods, Ocho is the first tequila to indicate the vintage and the exact field of origin of the harvested agaves. Each batch comes from a different field or “Rancho,” each with its own regional characteristics. La Ladera means “hillside” in Spanish. Facing west with an average slope of 8%, this Rancho spans an area of 35 hectares, at an altitude ranging from 2,100 to 2,150 meters. The terrain, a rocky slope with shallow red mineral soil, has low to medium fertility. Due to these conditions, the agave plants that grow there have a relatively low average weight. Nevertheless, their sugar content is high, exceeding 30% of the total weight, due to the stressful conditions in which the plant develops. The Reposado version is aged for 8 weeks and 8 days in 200-liter American oak barrels that have been used multiple times, thus preserving all the essence and character of the agave.
