Built on the site of a former illicit distillery, Mortlach developed a distinctive production style using partial triple distillation and traditional worm tub condensers, techniques that contribute to its rich, meaty and deeply textured character. Historically, much of its production was reserved for blends, making older official bottlings particularly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
