MAISON PRUNIER Lot 28 Grande Champagne THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE 7.0

$2,100.00

“Quality and respect for the terroir” is the motto of Maison Prunier, whose trading activities date back to 1769.

From the renowned clay-limestone terroir of Grande Champagne, this venerable expression is made exclusively from the ugni blanc grape.

Distilled in a six-hectoliter, coal-fired still, it aged in a tawny oak cask with a 270-liter capacity before being transferred to a demijohn in the early 1960s.

Abundantly and diversely fruity, its aromatic and flavor profile has retained a youthful vibrancy that commands admiration. Additionally, it has a fresh, herbaceous quality reminiscent of a great single malt from Speyside.

Tasting Notes

Colour
: Orangey copper

Nose : Fresh, elegant. Initially, ripe grape scents harmonize beautifully with medicinal (balm), vanilla, and licorice notes. Then, a delightful orange and almond marmalade spreads its tangy tones across the entire aromatic profile.

Palate : Dynamic, refined. Intensely exotic (mango, persimmon, guava), the flavor profile smoothly develops into rich notes of brioche, pear, greengage plum, and candied lemon, marked by a remarkable creaminess. Gradually, a dusting of cocoa powder falls over the palate.

Finish : Fine, full-bodied. Initially, new fruits appear, such as melon, mirabelle plum, cocoa beans, and banana. Freshly herbaceous, the flavor profile then ventures with brightness into malt territory, specifically in the Speyside region of Scotland.
