Agave Angustifolia / Espadin native to the state of Oaxaca, is the agave most commonly used in mezcal due to its high production properties, sugars, weight and volume. The notes of this agave vary depending on the region of Oaxaca from which it is grown. Our Machetazo Espadin 45% Mezcal has a presence of floral and fruity notes with a slightly silky texture. These tones are influenced by the subtropical climate where the distillery is located. Espadin Agaves reach their ideal maturity and sugar concentration between 8 and 12 years and are fired in an earthen oven giving off aromas of roasted fruits.
