Founded in 1821 in the heart of Speyside, Linkwood is widely regarded as one of Scotland’s finest yet most understated distilleries. Although much of its production has traditionally been reserved for renowned blends such as Johnnie Walker, White Horse, Haig and Bell’s, Linkwood has earned a devoted following among whisky enthusiasts thanks to its elegant, floral spirit and exceptional ability to mature gracefully in sherry casks. As a result, many of the distillery’s most celebrated single malts have come from respected independent bottlers, particularly Gordon & MacPhail.
Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2006, this single cask release from Sherry Cask #6952 perfectly showcases Gordon & MacPhail’s renowned expertise in long-term cask maturation. Richly influenced by quality sherry oak while preserving Linkwood’s signature elegance, this limited bottling delivers a beautifully balanced Speyside whisky layered with dried fruits, gentle spice and refined oak. A classic example of how thoughtful maturation can elevate an already exceptional distillate.
