Here is our latest creation from the house, after a few months of being a bit confined… We decided to head towards the sunny islands… Destination Jamaica! A 2002 Pouy estate from the Tenarèze Armagnac region, with a limestone terroir and Armagnacs with a slightly high alcohol content. Vincent, our master blender, wanted something fruity with character to pair with this Jamaican rum cask with its characteristic petroleum notes… The Armagnac and the rum play a game of tag on the nose, sometimes one leading, sometimes the other. The aromas are oily, woody, with very ripe bananas, a bit vegetal, freshly cut grass and then the sweet side comes through with pineapple, apricot, mango… and tobacco. After airing, one might detect a hint of violet and the old plum character coming straight from the native Tenarèze of the Pouy 2002 estate.
