Distilled in 2009 and aged for 16 years, this Jura single malt was finished in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt and bottled at natural cask strength. The sherry influence brings richness and depth, layering notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee and dried fruit over Jura’s naturally gentle, slightly oily spirit.
Jura Distillery sits on the remote Isle of Jura, a rugged island with fewer than 300 residents. Rebuilt in the 1960s, the distillery produces a clean, lightly smoky whisky with a subtle cereal sweetness. Its tall stills create an elegant, easy-drinking style that pairs exceptionally well with sherry cask maturation. Jura remains known for balance rather than intensity: soft smoke, rounded texture, and quiet complexity.
Signatory Vintage’s Cask Strength Collection showcases whiskies in their purest form: natural cask strength, no colouring, no chill-filtration. This 2009 Jura was selected for its clarity, richness and the way the Oloroso finish amplifies the distillery’s understated style.
