Since 2020, the French Version, a range dedicated to exceptional French spirits, has been meeting producers across the country and showcasing their expertise. In 2023, the French Version inaugurates a new cycle dedicated to various stages of whisky production. Named Cerealis, the first episode of this cycle highlights the iconic cereals used in whisky production worldwide, featuring four versions crafted from corn, rye, barley, and wheat. Distilled between 2013 and 2019 in an Armagnac still, the four small batches revisit the categories of bourbon, rye, single malt, and grain whisky. Crafted from two-row spring barley, this version, bottled at 48%, was entirely aged in intensely charred large-grain French oak casks from Limousin. Magnificent, Hordeum’s aromatic and gustatory palette is characterized by cereal, herbaceous, and fruity sequences that succeed each other with enthusiasm.
