EDRADOUR 10 ans 2013 Sherry Butt New Vibrations

$200.00

Established in 1825, the Glenforres distillery was renamed Edradour in 1837. Acquired by Campbell Distilleries (Pernod Ricard) in 1982, it became the property of Andrew Simington, the founder of the famous Scottish trading house Signatory Vintage in 2002. It was completely renovated in 2018, and a second adjacent distillery was established in the same year. From the very beginning, this version vividly captures the Edradour style. With a refined classicism, its aromatic and gustatory palette traverses malted, exuberant, and autumnal territories, taking us on a journey from Pitlochry to Jerez de la Frontera.

Description

Tasting Notes

Colour
: Coppery.

Nose : Refined, rich. Notes of dried fruits (walnut, hazelnut), toffee, and some spices (cinnamon, clove) form a very coherent initial scent. Upon aeration, malted barley and chocolate chips rise to the surface of an aromatic palette refreshed by mint leaves.

Palate : Generous, concentrated. Finely licorice-infused, the mouthfeel is particularly fruity (apricot, mango, orange). Then, this tangy sequence gives way to infused notes (thyme, tea) and gently chocolaty tones.

Finish : Long, smooth. Powdery (rice, cocoa), the finish shines with its silky and indulgent texture. The aftertaste then takes on tertiary tones (mushroom, chestnut). Towards the end of the palate, spices (cardamom, saffron) punctuate the tasting experience with nobility.
