DEL MAGUEY Barril

$240.00

This special edition from the Vino de Mezcal range pays tribute to the remarkable talent of Florencio Don Lencho, an 80-year-old master palenquero. Among the five varieties of the Karwinskii agave family, Barril is the most well-known. In the village of Santa Catarina Minas, after harvesting, Barril agaves are cooked in the ground for three days, then pressed by hand. The collected juice is fermented in open air with indigenous yeast and then distilled in traditional clay stills. The result is a floral mezcal with notes of clove, herbaceousness, and minerality.
