COGNAC MAUXION Lot 45 Bons Bois THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE 6.0

$715.00

The history of the Mauxion house dates back to the mid-18th century. Representing the 10th generation, Amaury Mauxion crafts cognacs from the Fins Bois Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Bons Bois crus, such as this magnificent version distilled at the end of the Second World War and aged in a Limousin oak cask with coarse grain. A succession of sequences whose expressive sensitivity is matched only by freshness, its aromatic and gustatory palette vividly captures a maturity whose colorful tones are pure enchantment.

Tasting Notes

Colour : Old gold with coppery reflections.

Nose : Fine, complex. A blend of licorice, ginger, passion fruit, cocoa, and lime blossom; the initial nose is particularly open and exuberant. Upon aeration, vanilla and tertiary aromas (moss, chestnut) evoke the radiant atmosphere of early autumn.

Palate : Direct, slender. In continuation of the nose, the palate entry invites new fruity (currant, mango) and floral (lily, buttercup) flavors. In the mid-palate, spices (cinnamon, clove, star anise) invigorate the palate, otherwise preciously wooded.

Finish : Long, suave. Evoking licorice stick, the start of the finish is also infused (laurel, sage) and powdery (grated ginger, gentian). Aged, the aftertaste is marked by very lovely flavors of wax, coconut, and iris concrete.
