In 1984, Blanton?s became the first bourbon to be released as a single-cask bottling, marking a significant turning point in the history of American whiskey. It is produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in the heart of Kentucky. This straight bourbon takes its name from Colonel Blanton, who led the distillery from 1912 to 1953. Inspired by his predecessor, the creator of Blanton?s embraced the end of the practice of rotating casks and chose instead to allow each cask to express its own distinctive flavour profile. As a result, the various Blanton?s releases offer a rich and precise range of cereal, spice, candied fruit, citrus, and floral notes.
