BENROMACH 40 ans

$2,800.00

Quantity limited to 1 bottle.

Distilled in the 1980s, even before Gordon & MacPhail bought the distillery, this single malt is one of the oldest bottlings in the Benromach range. Aged in the finest first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, this 40 year old single malt offers lovely notes of ginger, stewed fruit, citrus zest, apple and brown sugar. The bottle, dressed in black and set off in a wooden box, takes its inspiration from the painted panels that once adorned the distillery’s old roof pagoda.

Profile

Nose: Rich ginger and stewed fruit aromas followed by citrus, cinnamon, toffee and beeswax polish.
Palate: The palate reveals intense Seville orange favours with red apple and demerara sugar.
Finish: Finishes with citrus zest and a touch of charred oak.

Description

Benromach traces its roots back to pre-1960s Speyside and produces a whisky with hints of delicate smoke and a wonderful balance of flavours. Known for the high quality of its distillate, the distillery takes particular care in the production of its whisky. Indeed, Benromach’s three distillers carefully orchestrate every second of the distillation process and use only high-quality, 100% Scottish ingredients. Each cask is filled, weighed and stamped by hand, before being matured for a number of years in their traditional bonded warehouses. A vibrant illustration of tradition and modernity, Benromach is noted for its unique maturations and dynamic image.
