Description
Nose: Rich and heady. The nose is multi-layered, opening with camphor, floral notes of lily and iris, oxidative touches of raisin and wax, and herbaceous hints of tobacco and straw. As it breathes, varnish, candied ginger, and nutmeg accentuate its generous, extroverted personality. Gradually, cocoa powder spreads through the air.
Palate: Lively yet creamy. Mirroring the nose, the palate is extremely dense, offering medicinal notes (ointment, mustard poultice), fruit (pear, banana), vanilla, and lime-blossom honey. With time, perfectly ripe white grapes release their sweet, juicy flavours while a handful of nuts (almond, walnut, pistachio) disperse their gentle tannins along the sides of the mouth.
Overall: Long and well balanced. Revealing balsamic and resinous notes of pine and cedar, herbal infusions (chamomile), powdery touches (rice), and spice (ginger), the finish is just as concentrated. In the retro-nasal olfaction, marshmallow, violet, and liquorice sweets softly melt into an aftertaste full of menthol freshness, mouth-watering salinity, and creamy malt notes reminiscent of porridge.
