Tasting Notes

Colour : Bright gold.

Nose : Rich, deep. Initially, refined peat aromas dominate the entire aromatic spectrum. With aeration, it becomes saline, smoky (rubber), and medicinal (aspirin, arnica). White flowers (lilac, lily of the valley) add a touch that is both heady and refreshing.

Palate : Generous, invigorating. The peat takes on herbaceous (freshly cut hay), rooty (gentian), and spicy (ginger) tones. Mid-palate, flavors of vanilla (pod) and coconut milk saturate the taste buds followed by notes of freshly squeezed lemons.

Finish : Long, rich. Closely linked to the end of the palate, the finish is juicy (Williams pear), ashy, herbaceous (alfalfa), and lactose-rich (soy). In the aftertaste, flavors of mustard seed and ointment give way to the smoke of a cigar that lingers in the ambient atmosphere long after.
